Make up Monday

As it’s Monday today, we are having Make-Up Monday.

Actually, it’s not just make-up but also hair care, skin care and so on. I imagine the majority of us will have unused toiletries, make-up and perfume cluttering up our bedrooms and bathrooms: gift packs that you will never use, that bright red lipstick that you bought when you were feeling a bit naughty, the fragrance you received as a gift but don’t like. Well, how about going through all those things and disposing of any that are messy, empty, not your taste or style?

There is something wonderful that you can do with those new, unused items and it will have an amazing effect on vulnerable women: you can offer them to your local women’s Refuge. Often the women who arrive at the Refuge have nothing but the clothes they are wearing, their self esteem is pretty much non-existent and they have no money. A few lovely toiletries and make-up items is a terrific way to give them a bit of a boost. I would call that a huge WIN. Dina Days!

Dina was a member of the less-stuff community who, with her unusual sense of humour, has discovered a flair for writing amusing decluttering challenges, which we call 'Dina Days'. She died after a short illness but gave  me permission to put her words of wisdom on the website. I'm honoured to be able to keep her with us in this way. Lisa
