Countdown to Cosy – Drink more water

Are you dehydrated?

This is an excerpt from Spring into Action where a whole section is devoted to water. Although it’s easier to notice when you are thirsty if it is hot outside there is no reason you can’t be dehydrated in the winter too.

Signs of dehydration

Each person is different but common signs of dehydration include:

  • Dark yellow wee
  • Headaches and tiredness
  • Brain fog or sluggishness
  • Being grumpy or emotionally/mentally fragile
  • Dry, flaky skin
  • Water retention and bloating

And yes, feeling thirsty is a good sign that you are dehydrated but it’s actually one of the LAST signs to appear. As by the time you are thirsty, you’ve probably been dehydrated for some time already.

Remember, we are talking about dehydration caused by not drinking enough water – if you are suffering from chronic dehydration, or dehydration caused by recent illness, you should seek medical advice.

Spring into Action has sleep and water trackers throughout the workbook – right click to save and download this one from week 3. Every time you have a glass of water you can colour in one band on a vase. Drink enough and you can colour in the flower. Thanks to my mum for the colouring in picture.

You can find Spring into Action on Amazon in Kindle and Paperback format or from less-stuff as a printable PDF.
